Two days after the birth of my daughter, Russia launched one of its largest air attacks on Kyiv. It was terrifying, but also entirely expected, and that's the worst part.
I so admire you and so many Ukrainian people. Stay steadfast. I am doing everything I can to make sure US elected officials give you strong support. Putin must be stopped.
Beautiful, brave, poignant writing! I never forget that every single written word, by Ukrainians and non-Ukrainians, for and about Ukrainian life, is a way to resist Russia. And also annoy Russia.
Thank you for taking time to write, and writing so thoughtfully, amidst electricity cuts, internet issues, sirens, bunker times, feeding baby, changing diapers, calming a fussy baby, playing with a happy, smiling baby, loving, loving, loving your precious little one. ❤️
Thankful to Ben Wittes for bringing you to our attention. In his support for Ukraine, he is driven in his mission to annoy the russians whenever and wherever he can. Also thankful that he has introduced you to us. I look forward to reading your posts. Slava Ukrainii!
Never forget that Ukraine has many friends in the United States. We understand that the fight we are in to save our own democracy is a fight for yours as well. We will not give up!
Wow. This was heavy even just to read it. Honestly such events make me angry thinking of the people who are taking russia's side. I think the West should finally give Ukraine enough (more) machinery to win the war, so that no manpower is lost. Europe needs to grow balls and become much stronger than it is showing itself today.

Hi Barbara, thank you for your kind words! As things are getting worse, it helps to remember that some aren't turning a blind eye to it.

Heroyam Slava! I hope you like it here.

Hi Nancy, thank you! This is an excellent point I should write about – Ukraine is much more ideologically similar to the US than people realize.

I agree. As one of my friends put it, “It would be nice if Europe was a thing”
